Crafting: Cross Stitch Beginning from A Girl in the Bush

I can only show you part of my accomplishment since my first attempt at cross stitching was subversive cross stitching, and I don't use offensive language here. Despite some (mostly?) uneven stitches, I'm very proud of my work, since the only thing that I drew out before I stitched were the letters... the heart, the vines, and the leaves were all done 'free hand'. I don't know enough about cross stitching to know whether this is standard or stupid, but it was nice to work with my hands and think about something other than all the challenges of living in the bush (with semi-working water, generators, and electricity).
